Ugi® Instructor Training

Do you want to challenge and engage your members with a workout that delivers the versatility and efficiency that everyone wants? U got it! With the Ugi® 30-minute workout, you can challenge your members and learn new programming skills. Ugi can also be integrated into nearly any class or workout, regardless of age, gender, fitness level, training goals or location.

During the training you will learn over 100 exercises using the Ugi® ball as well as how to build workouts for group fitness classes, small group trainings and individuals.

Course Objectives:

  • Discover the Ugi philosophy and medicine ball history
  • Learn how to lead a Ugi 30-minute workout using effective cueing and coaching
  • Integrate Ugi into various fitness systems such as functional and barefoot training
  • Utilize new programming techniques and strategies
  • Explore a range of strength, cardio, core and flexibilty exercises using the Ugi ball and how to incorporate Ugi with other equipment
  • Create customized routines

Recommended Experience

Group fitness, personal training or basic knowledge of exercise science is recommended, but not mandatory. As always, it's recommended to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certifications prior to teaching classes or individuals.

Choosing the right Ugi® ball

The Ugi ball is 15" in diameter and comes in 4 weights (6 lb purple, 8 lb pink, 10 lb blue, 12 lb green).
Ugi balls are hand-stuffed with a combination of recycled rubber and an exclusive blend of polyester fill that
gives it a unique squish-ability. They are made out of a highly durable, wax-coated material.

Host a Ugi® Training

Hosting a Ugi® Instructor Training is a convenient way to get your
instructors trained, keep them up to date with continuing education
(5.5 AFAA, 0.5 ACE, 0.6 NASM), and recruit new instructors from
your community.

Hosting is simple - your facility provides the space and the
Ugi balls and Mad Dogg Athletics® will take care of the rest.

Existing Ugi Facilities can log into their account and use the
"Host a Training" request tool. If you are not yet a Ugi Fit Facility,
please contact us and we'll help U get ready to offer Ugi®.

There are no licensing fees or other costs to be a Ugi Fitness Facilty.
